Dan Jacobs

Dan started swimming when he was 4 years old for his neighborhood team, the Marlbank Mudtoads in Yorktown, VA. He swam AAU/USS for Coast Guard Blue Dolphins in Yorktown, VA until the age of fourteen when he moved to Northern Virginia. Dan then swam for Solotar, Oakton High School, and The Vienna Aquatic Club (VAC) GATORS. He started coaching in 1985 as a developmental assistant at VAC and assistant coached there until he graduated from Oakton in 1986.

Dan attended College at Old Dominion University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He also swam Division 1 for ODU. That is where he had the honor to be coached on occasion by ASCA Hall of Fame coach Bill Peak. He was very inspired by him and his coaching philosophy.

During the summers Dan coached at Dunn Loring for three years before accepting the head coach position at Vienna Aquatic Club. Upon graduation from ODU, he worked in the graphic design field for approximately 10 years, along with continuing to coach for VAC in the summer and coaching USS for York Swim Club.

Dan started Machine Aquatics in 2001 with Christian Doud and Paris Jacobs and strives to be the best coach on the planet. He believes he will never stop learning to be a better coach. He is married to his best friend and partner Paris Jacobs. They have two beautiful children, Lilly and Daniel.

Paris Jacobs

Paris Jacobs serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Machine Brands, LLC, overseeing all business operations of all five divisions within Machine. Formally a competitive swim coach for the team, in 2007 she retired from coaching and move to operations full-time. After a long volunteer career within USA Swimming and USA Swimming Foundation, Paris served as a business development consultant for The American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) from 2015-2017 and in September 2018 accepted the newly created position as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the American Swim Coaches Association. During her time at the American Swim Coaches Association, she also severed as Business Development Consultant and Event Operations Manager for International Swimming League (ISL) overseeing the USA operations and 4 major events for the first Pro Swimming Team Series in history, culminating with the World Championships at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV in 2019. In 2021, Paris resigned from ASCA to return to full-time Management of Machine Brands

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Paris grew up recreationally swimming for Dynamo Swim Club and the local summer league. She began her coaching career in Atlanta at her summer league pool as an assistant coach. She moved to the Northern Virginia area in 1993 attending boarding school. She attended George Mason University studying Business.

Since its inception in 2001, Machine Aquatics has grown into Machine Brands which encompasses four divisions. Machine Aquatics, a nationally ranked USA Swimming competitive team with eleven training sites and 1700+ members, Machine Swim School, a large swim school providing 800+ lessons weekly, Machine Performance Center, a 20,000 +sq ft. performance center for swim, fitness, community events, and physical therapy.

Paris is a mother to two amazing children, Lillyan, a Junior at the University of South Carolina, majoring in Sports Medicine, and Daniel, III a Freshman at Salisbury University where he is a Lacrosse player.

Coach Christine

Growing up, Christine swam for NCAP and the Varsity team at Robinson Secondary School.  In her Junior and Senior years, she was a part of record-breaking relays and a point scorer in individual events to help Robinson Women become state champions 2 years in a row in 2009 and 2010. Over the summers, she would coach and compete for the Burke Centre Stingers from the colonial swim league, winning the backstroke event every year since her freshman year.

Her competitive spirit and passion for the sport followed her to college. Christine spent all 4 years swimming at Old Dominion University, a Division 1 NCAA school where she became an accomplished 400 and 200 IMer with a specialty in the backstroke events. During college, she also became a coach and lesson instructor at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club, building her love for coaching and helping kids grow and succeed in such a demanding sport.

After she graduated college, Christine moved back home and was given the opportunity to join Machine Aquatics in September of 2015. She has over 12 years of coaching experience and enjoys being a part of such an amazing team and program.

Coach Jason

Jason is in his fifth season with Machine Aquatics. Jason leads the National Prep Groups at both Oakmarr and Madeira while continuing to assist the National Team. He also coaches two evenings per week with the Madeira Age Group program. Prior to joining Machine, Jason spent 2 ½ years with Nitro Swimming in Austin, TX, 7 years with the Darien YMCA Piranhas in Darien, CT, and 3 years with the Whippany Waves in NJ. Throughout his career, Jason has coached swimmers ranging from beginners to Olympic Trial Qualifiers. He also spent this past summer Head Coaching the Hunter Mill Sharks of the NVSL. In 2016, Jason was selected by USA Swimming to be on the staff for the National Diversity Select Camp at the OTC in Colorado Springs, CO.

Jason believes in a positive approach and enjoys motivating swimmers to not only reach their goals but to surpass them. He hopes to accomplish this through hard work and an ALL-IN commitment to the team! Outside of the pool he spends his time watching sports and cheering for the NY Giants, NY Mets, NJ Devils, WVU Mountaineers, and Notre Dame Football! He has an identical twin brother who is also a swim coach in the area.

Coach Evan

Growing up in Virginia Beach Evan Wrenn started competitive swimming his freshman year of high school when he joined the Princess Anne High School team.  He swam all four years at Princess Anne and eventually for the club team at George Mason University.

Evan has worked for Machine Aquatics since 2017 and can be found at multiple practice sites.  He coaches competitive groups at the Audrey Moore, Tysons, Oakmarr, and Tuckahoe sites along with giving private and group lessons at the Machine Swim School.
